SAFARIS

Walking Safaris - our speciality

The majority of Safari experiences involve travelling in some form of vehicle, usually a large 4x4 with modifications to maximise the viewing experience and the safety of those on safari. Safe, comfortable to a degree, capable of covering large distances and potentially seeing more animals.

How much better to walk through the bush, seeing, smelling and hearing things which you will miss in a vehicle - insects, birds, plants, tracks and potentially seeing the big animals at close quarters. Of course, you would need a guide who is experienced at conducting such walks, who is skilled at tracking, knowledgable about the bush and its inhabitants and deeply vested in the job he is doing. He would also, of course, need to be armed appropriately and fully aware of what to do if a potentially dangerous event unfolded.

Owen is that man - see "Elephant Charge" on our Vlog page to see how he handles an upset Bull elephant.
